Ed's Lobster Bar

C, my roommate, and J, my coworker, went out for a girls' night out at Ed's Lobster Bar.

How much fun to be perched on a stool at the marble counter top with our makeup intact and a friendly bar tender. With a bottle of white and noshing on crab and artichoke dip, we proceeded to run through the weekly updates of men, weight, and rings. For someone who doesn't want an engagement ring, I find the discussion of them endlessly --- engaging.

We all got the lobster roll with fries, and our server was foolhardy enough to ask if we were interested in the other option. Turns out that would have been a salad. Baaah we said, who are you kidding, of course we want fries.

Otherwise though, he was a very fine waiter and overheard our various outrageous proclamations with aplomb. My own contribution was when I declared that I was the Michael Phelps of relationships. Not the 8 gold medal part, but more along the lines of the unfortunate bong incident in South Carolina. You are on your own parsing that one.

Another bottle of wine, a slice of pie and a banana split later, we happily found our way home having laughed and confided and commiserated.

Ed's Lobster Bar, 222 Lafayette Street (b/n Spring and Kenmare).
