Fruit Kick

The fruit kick continues.

I couldn't finish all of last week's fruit, so I bought some orange juice and whole milk yogurt and used my blender for the first time since purchasing it two-and-a-half years ago. This is a blender that, like my other kitchen appliance purchases, I first researched by looking at the product reviews by America's Test Kitchen.
Let me just say now that please, please do not ever put mashed potatoes in your blender to get a smooth consistency. I understand the desire, but the blades of your blender will just rip open millions of cellular walls, and gluey potato starches will ooze out and then you will not have some divine mashed potatoes, but an embarrassment on your kitchen table. It's okay, most of us go through it, but learn child from your elder's mistakes.

Now that I know I can make smoothies, I feel free to continue my weekly quests to Chinatown. This time I came back with more strawberries.

Then some kiwis. I love the colors.

Added some mangoes. This is the type that my parents called the Filipino mangoes, and they are less stringy than the traditional mangoes one typically finds.

And then I added some ripe papaya. This week's breakfast is looking good!
