In an unexpected and exciting turn of events, I had the opportunity to dine at Alinea Valentine's Day Weekend. Talk about warm, fuzzy, affectionate feelings.Dinner was an intense experience to say the least. We had 29 courses spread out over 7 hours. I'll post each dish separately, so you don't get overwhelmed.

First up was a dish titled "Char Roe" with plaintain, ginger and papaya. We also did the wine pairing, and this one was paired with a Cocktail of Henriot Brut with Lillet, St. germain, and Hollerblutensirup. What was most exciting about this dish is that clear, cellophane wrapper that was infused with a flavor (I forget which) and just dissolved in the mouth.
